NOTE FROM STACY

February is one of my favorite months, as I am quite fond of hearts, the color pink and anything chocolate! Join in the fun by contacting your favorite consultant to see our wonderful new designs of romantic necklaces, bracelets and earrings. I have also included one of my favorite recipes, chocolate-dipped shortbread hearts. They are not only easy to make, but a big hit with cookie fans. Enjoy!

HEART OF HEARTS

This month is also a good time to partner with Stacy McBride Collections and the American Heart Association for our month-long celebration and awareness campaign.

Our limited edition bracelet brings out the romantic in everyone. This charming piece is exquisitely and lovingly crafted of rose quartz and crystal beads. Proceeds benefit the American Heart Association. View our bracelet at www.stacymcbride.com

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women, while stroke is #3. Knowledge is power. Your family health history, your diet and exercise routine, as well as stress levels all play a role. Take the time to inform yourself at www.americanheart.com

RECIPE

Chocolate Dipped Shortbread Hearts
submitted by Stacy

1 pound unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
4 cups flour
12 ounces milk chocolate (or semisweet)

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Cream butter. Add sugar gradually. Add flour, making sure it is well mixed, but don’t overwork. Divide dough in 2-3 pieces. Pat or roll pieces of dough on floured board until they are about 1/2" thick. Using a 2" heart cookie cutter, cut out hearts and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 15 minutes or until cookies are golden brown on the edges. Watch the first few batches closely and lower oven to 350 degrees F if they cook to quickly. Place baked cookies on a rack to cool.

Melt the chocolate in double broiler (or slowly in the microwave). Dip half the heart into the melted chocolate, so that you have a black and white effect. Lay dipped hearts on parchment or waxed paper to set.

QUOTE OF THE MONTH

"If your heart is closed, then you will find behind that door nothing to light your way. But if your heart is open, you will find behind that door people who, like you, are searching, and you will find the right door together with them." - Dean Koontz
