NOTE FROM STACY

Hello everyone! What a busy summer it has been. I know, like many of you, that summer is filled with more activities than normal. Instead of sitting on the front porch with a glass of lemon-aid and a good book, we can end up zipping between family, jobs, chores, errands, appointments and so much more. Here are a few tips I try to use to help keep things a little calmer...

  • Use a calendar
  • Ask for help when you need it, and offer it where it is needed. It's more fun sharing and it is okay not to do EVERYTHING yourself (REALLY!!!)
  • Plan ahead; it saves gas, time and lots of stress!
  • Stay open to changes. If you are flexible and realize that "things happen," you can deal with it vs. being frustrated by it.
  • Make time for play - a date night with your husband, the zoo with your kids, a fun girls night with your friends. Life is very special. Take the time to enjoy it NOW.
  • Don't feel guilty if you don't get everything checked off your "to do list." Do the important things first and if you can delegate, defer or "dump" them, go for it! You will feel much better about it!
So, take some time to pour that lemon-aid, read that good book, or go for a walk with your husband. That's what life is about!

FASHION TIP

Here are a few basic tips to consider when you are selecting jewelry:

  • Choose jewelry that complements your skin tone.
  • Use jewelry to accent your favorite physical features. If your face shape is rounded you are better off going with an elongated earring.
  • Try jewelry on in front of a mirror-just like you do when you select clothing.
  • Don't be afraid to create your own "sets" when purchasing necklaces and earrings. This is a great way to put your personal touch on things. Just make sure to look at the components to make sure they compliment each other.
  • Necklaces should complement the neckline of your outfit. Make certain to try on the piece and actually hooking the clasp, so you can see the length. If you try and hold it yourself you will not get a good visual.
  • Have fun and don't be adverse to trying something new. It may just give you that extra lift you needed and make you feel great!
